Question: Can I learn Japanese by watching movies?
Answer: Take three minutes from a movie and understand the language context within those three minutes. What verbs are used in that context, and what tense are those verbs in? How are emotions expressed? What interjections are used at the end of sentences? Listening in a targeted manner, rather than just superficially, will definitely help you improve.
